The Hilton in Vila Nova de Gaia was a delightful culinary exploration! The breakfast spread was a feast for the senses, complete with a manned egg station that was a real winner. Plus, the hotel is nestled among Port wine houses, making it a perfect base for some local sips and bites.

While the hotel shines, check-in wasn’t a walk in the park. One staff member at reception was quite snappy when I mentioned I had two rooms booked. And then identifying my bags turned into a bit of a treasure hunt—unfriendly vibes for a 5-star stay.

The Hilton Porto Gaia features elegant decor with modern touches, ensuring a comfortable stay. Its accessibility made navigating the hotel easy for seniors, with spacious corridors and elevators that added to my enjoyable experience.

I had a wonderful stay! The spa was incredible, the breakfast had a delightful range of choices, and the room was pristine with luxurious amenities. Definitely coming back!

One downside is the overpowering fragrance pumped throughout the building. It's so strong that it becomes overwhelming, potentially posing a health concern for staff and guests alike. Additionally, the housekeeping was inconsistent, with fewer cleanings during the stay than expected. Lastly, there were times when the television setup was confusing, lacking smart TV access or clear instructions for device connections, which made relaxing in the room a bit of a puzzle at times.

The breakfast selection was impressive, featuring a short-order chef who prepared eggs to order, which made mornings delightful. The pool area was exceptional, providing a perfect spot to relax and unwind. However, the gluten-free bread during breakfast remained consistent throughout the week, which could be improved. Additionally, while the location is central, there were occasional noise disturbances at night that detracted from the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.

Spacious room, attentive staff, the King Room was large and restful, complemented by excellent service from the front of house and bar staff, making it easy to unwind after exploring the city accessible via the nearby airport.

Just had an awesome stay! The suite was super spacious and comfy, with a huge shower and a cool seating area. The staff were super friendly and gave us a room upgrade, which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was a treat, especially the egg station & fresh pastries. Took a bit to figure out the light switches, though.
